Founded in 1918, the team at JW Smith & Sons owns and manages farms across Hertfordshire, including land in contract farming agreements. 

 

The main farms are spread across North East Hertfordshire:

 

• New Street Farm, Standon 

• Boxbury Farm, Walkern

• Standon Friars, Wellpond Green

• Graveley Bury Farm, Graveley

• Stevenage Bury Farm, Stevenage

The farm grows a range of crops including Wheat, Oilseed Rape, Oats, Beans and Barley which are the mainstays. In addition to this the farm has a small suckler herd of South Devon cows situated on ancient water meadows  and some large blocks of mature woodland.
